The Ryan Family has been the principal minority owner of the Chicago Bears Football Club since 1990 when Pat Ryan Sr. purchased a 20%+ stake with a long time friend and business partner.
Through Ryan Sports Ventures, the Ryan Family are investors in Black Knight Football, which owns AFC Bournemouth of the English Premier League as well as stakes in clubs in France and Scotland.
Starting with an investment by Pat Ryan Sr. in 1968, the Ryan Family were major investors in Penske Corporation, owner of Penske Racing, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indy Racing League for over 50 years.

Community Reinvestment
In addition to requiring $0 in public funding (the project is 100% privately funded), the new Ryan Field will provide $208 million in contracts for minority and women owned businesses. The Ryan Foundation is also providing $10 million to fund workforce development programs to help Evanston residents move from minimum wage jobs into higher paid, skilled careers.
