Reimagining Adaptive Athletics

Helping to grow adaptive riding at the national level

Ryan Adaptive Sports is led by pioneer Corbett Ryan. A long time equestrian who competed in local adaptive riding competitions, Corbett successfully petitioned the All American Quarter Horse Congress to open up the prestigious Columbus Horse Show to adaptive athletes.

Recipient of the Jack Benson Award for outstanding leadership

Since Corbett’s pioneering work hundreds of riders with disabilities have been able to compete on the national level; Corbett was awarded the Jack Benson Award for his outstanding leadership.

Opening up opportunities for adaptive athletes

Through his work at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, Corbett is a champion for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in adaptive sports. Corbett’s pioneering work is opening up opportunities for adaptive athletes from Shirley Ryan Ability Lab to hold competitions at Northwestern’s Welsh-Ryan Arena and the new Ryan Field.
